Question: Can a USB flash drive replace the internal hard drive for recording on a TIGERSECU DVR or NVR?

No, a USB flash drive cannot replace the internal hard drive for recording on a TIGERSECU DVR or NVR. An internal surveillance hard drive must be installed for recording. USB flash drives can only be used for video backup and firmware upgrades.

USB Flash Drive Requirements:

  • 2MP DVRs: Supports USB format FAT32.
  • 5MP Hybrid DVR/NVR, 5MP POE NVR, and 2MP WiFi NVR: Supports USB formats FAT32 and NTFS.

Ensure the USB flash drive has a USB 2.0 standard interface for proper recognition by the DVR or NVR.
